The Research Institute of Steel has equipment that allows for a full cycle of heat treatment of any parts with a size of no more than 1x1.5 m. made of armor and special steels. In 2013, a new thermal furnace was put into operation at the thermal site, which allows more precise programming of heat treatment modes.
As part of the modernization program of production facilities, new thermal equipment will be installed, which will allow quenching in an inert gas environment, which will significantly reduce the amount of decarburization of the surface layer during quenching and increase the armor characteristics of the material.
