The Research Institute was the first in Russia to begin developing special highly protected armored vehicles for army use. A line of armored vehicles with a 4x4 and 6x6 wheel formula based on Ural and KAMAZ was created. The cars no longer had built-in protection, but originally designed armored cabins, bodywork and other units. The protection level was set at least 5 according to GOST R 50963-96.
